The content of course
Evelyn Tubb teaches vocal technique and Michael Fields explores the background of the music from a historical viewpoint. Both tutors deal with the interpretation and characterization of solo and ensemble singing. There will be individual instruction as well as ensemble rehearsal and coaching in preparation for a “Student Concert”, in which all take part. This concert takes place in Sastamala Church on Friday, July 30th at 7 pm.
The viola da gamba students will concentrate on English consort music, with particular emphasis on music for voices and viols. Individual coaching will also be available and attention will be paid to the needs of each student, beginner or advanced.
Participants or groups are offered the chance to bring their own music to practise for performance.
The courses in recorder, baroque violin and cembalo continuo are taught by leading practitioners and are aimed at advanced students or performers. Tuition will be given individually within a masterclass environment, and students will be expected to perform in the masterclass concert at the end of the course.
